Startup Festival is an event aimed at bringing startups involved in the Nigerian tech ecosystem together with investors and ecosystem supporters by creating a space that fosters innovation, networking, and synergy across several sub-sectors within the ecosystem.

The event was organized by GetEquity and held on November 19, 2022.

The event was originally scheduled to be held on October 19, 2022. Felix Ayoola (working as a product designer at GetEquity)  created a makeshift art direction for the event, but then it eventually got moved and he decided to create a small team and create a befitting visual identity for the Startup Festival 2022.
Building Blocks of the Ecosystem
The creative direction we went with was inspired by pixelated blocks — reminiscent of old computer graphics and representing the building blocks of the startup ecosystem — the people that make up the startups and the startups that make up the ecosystem/industry.

This drove the creation of a custom typeface for the event, which we used to craft the logo design for the event, as well as the layout and illustrations used on print and digital graphics.
We also created pixelated illustrations of a few landmarks in Lagos — where the event was hosted to serve as visual devices for branded collateral.
